Dr. Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg is an artist exploring the human values that shape design, science, technology, and nature. Daisy has spent ten years researching the design of living matter, and is lead author of Synthetic Aesthetics: Investigating Synthetic Biology’s Designs on Nature (MIT Press, 2014). In 2017 she completed “Better", her PhD by practice in Design Interactions at London's Royal College of Art, interrogating powerful dreams of “better” futures that manifest in material things. Daisy received the London Design Medal for Emerging Talent in 2012 and the World Technology Award for design in 2011. Daisy publishes, lectures, and exhibits internationally, including at MoMA New York, the Moscow Art Biennale, and Tokyo's Museum of Contemporary Art, and her work is in museum and private collections.
