Peter Fratzl
Physicist
Professor Dr. Peter Fratzl, physicist, studied at the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris and earned his PhD from the University in Vienna. He has been the director of the Max-Planck-Institute of Colloids and Interfaces since 2003 and since 2016 Fratzl has been one the three speakers at the Interdisciplinary Laboratory Image Knowledge Gestaltung. In 2019 he will continue in this function for the Interdisciplinary Laboratory Matters of Activity.
From 2017 to 2020 he will hold the Chair of the Chemistry-Physics-Engineering Section at the Max Planck Society. Fratzl has been a member of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Science and Humanities since 2015 and is the winner of the Leibniz Preis 2003.
