Frédérique Aït-Touati

Historian

Frédérique Aït-Touati is a director and science historian. Her work explores the links among science, literature, and politics and focuses on ways to develop sensitive knowledge through performance and the arts. Her last play (INSIDE, a conference-performance by Bruno Latour) was presented at the Nanterre-Amandiers theatre, then in Berlin (HAU), New York (Signature theatre), Brussels (Kaaitheatre), and Marseilles ( théâtre national de la Criée). A researcher at the CNRS, she teaches at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales and directs SPEAP (experimental program in political arts). She has published Contes de la Lune, essai sur la fiction et la science modernes (Gallimard, 2011). Her next book (Terra Forma, a manual of potential cartographies) will be published by B42 in the spring.
